Cambridge!
Hello again!
The last blogpost I wrote was in May and was about me not going to uni (well, at least not this year). And now we are already in July. Time is flying by fast and my time in London is coming to an end, but more on that later. First an update on my life as I often get questions what I have been up to, so here you go. :-)
A couple of weeks ago I only had to work on Monday and Tuesday. They were at a school camp so all I had to do was things like ironing and walking the dog in the morning. I decided to go to South Kensington because I had been wanting to go to a restaurant, le pain quotidien for ages and there was one near my friend's Myrna's house. I have known Myrna for a very long time, because we both worked at the theatre in my hometown. She sent me a message on facebook a while ago asking if I had moved to London. I said I did and it turned out that we have the same job, haha! In the evening we had dinner in a park near her house and we decided to plan a daytrip for Sunday: Cambridge!
On thursday I was feeling a bit low on energy so after I walked the dog and cleaned my room a little, I ended up doing some research for my next couple of trips. On friday me and Birhana went to Westfield and saw Entourage in the cinema. I have watched quite a couple of episodes in the past so I was super excited to see the film. Turns out it was ok but more of a guy flick: we were practically the only girls in the cinema, haha!
I ended up going to the cinema twice this weekend as on Saturday I met up with Maudi, Eileen and Laura. We saw Jurassic World at the cinema in Shepherd's Bush. It was nice to see how both entourage and Jurassic Park have changed over the years. After the cinema we went to to Hyde Park where the British Summer Time festival was taking place. This turned out to be very crowded so the tube was very busy and sweaty, ugh!
Sunday came: Cambridge time! I hadn't been there before, what a lovely city. I have never really read a lot about Cambridge so I was really excited to go there and not actually know a lot about the city (apart from the university of course). We were both quite tired so after walking around for a while we decided to have a picknick. We sat along the river and saw a lot of "punting" boats. We had the best time. Partly because someone lost their punting stick in the water but also because most of the guys working on the boats were fit (sorry not sorry! ;) ). We went for dinner in a pub called "the eagle" which turned out to be the pub where Francis Crick and James Watson came up with their proposal for the structure of DNA.
I wrote this last monday and was waiting for thursday to arrive because Ruben en Raya would arrive in London. So last week and this week my brother and Raya were visiting but I will write a seperate blogpost on that!
