Rainy London, loving life.

I went to the Hackney Carnival with Marcia and Denisa on Sunday. I loved it because it was so close to my house and  not as big as the nothing hill carnival.
Marcia celebrated her 1-year anniversary that day so we both took a Polaroid picture.
In the evening I went to central London again and we went to the comedy club again but note to self: don't go there two times in two weeks. On Monday, tuesday and wednesday I didn't really do a lot except going to a big Sainsbury's and walking the dog with another dogwalker that I met in the park. On thursday I went to the breakfast club. The breakfast club is a café which is quite popular (in the weekends there is always a queue I think ). I went there with Ana (an au pair from Spain). It was really lovely meeting her (+the pancakes were so good!).

This week was the London design festival and there was a shoreditch triangle, this means that around shoreditch there were a lot of design things like a pop-up store and loads of exhibitions. I went there alone on thursday and on friday I met up with Emily (a Dutch au pair). First we had some coffee at Brick Lane and after that we tried to find a couple of London Design festival things. Unfortunately we didn't really see a lot of them.
We did see this (H_edge). I saw a video where Ben Brown (a YouTuber) visited this and it looked pretty cool so I really wanted to take a dorky touristic picture, oops!
When I was on my way back home it started raining...
As you can probably tell the rain was pretty bad so I was absolutely soaked when I arrived at the school. The kids had a playdate and in the evening I was free so I met up with some Dutch girls again and we went to the pub.
After that my phone died. Luckily I found the right busstop haha. On saturday I went to central London because I really wanted to go to bookmarc (marc jacobs bookstore). I bought a present for my hostmom and after that I met up for dinner with Maudi and Mirjam (two dutch girls) we had pasta at vapiano and after that we went for a drink at a random pub in Victoria.

It was really nice but unfortunately my phone died (again) I ended up taking a bus home to hackney central (which is close to my house but it's still quite far too walk in the middle of the night).
On sunday we (a lot of Dutch girls) were supposed to take the boat to Greenwich but when we got to the pier it turned out to be quite expensive so instead we split up and I went to the national gallery with a couple of girls.
I don't really have a lot of pictures from the museum but I do have this picture of me at trafalgar square.
At trafalgar square they also had a couple of things for the London design festival. That is where I took this picture which I really like because it has something typical Londish (is that a word?) and the "home?" sign.

The weekend was over! On Monday when the kids were at school I went to Ikea and a big Tesco. I went to Ikea by myself (go Alana!) and I also went to the big Tesco next to it where I found these scents for your car (drumsticks and Parma violets is candy here and jelly belly is a jelly bean scent).

I always find weird things at supermarkets when I'm abroad. Mars, malteser or galaxy chocolate drink anyone? They also had over 10 different nando's sauces.
On wednesday the old au pair came to visit and we went to the pub together in the evening which was really nice. The kids were so excited to see her again!

Today me and Dana (German au pair that lives quite close to me) went to roman road. We were both very hungry so I got an English breakfast for breakfast/lunch. I fell in love with this café (look at it) so I will definitely go there more often, haha.
Tommorow I only have to work in the morning. After that it's weekend! I can't wait for next weekend because Sofie will be in London for the weekend. Aaaaah!
